Research Assistant (5-year PhD fellowship) - salary grade 13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen - 1st qualification period (PhD candidate)
part-time employment may be possible
Working field:

  *   Furthering individual academic qualification through the pursuit of a doctoral project
  *   Teaching of courses and seminars within the regular curriculum, at the direction of the Chair of Theoretical Philosophy
  *   Active participation in the implementation and organization of workshops and conferences as well as in research projects and joint research proposals
  *   Supporting the Philosophy unit within the Department and cooperating with other units, within the Department als well as at an interdisciplinary level (e.g. within BIMoS)

Requirements:

  *   Successfully completed university degree (master's, diploma, or equivalent) in philosophy or a closely related field of study (e.g., HPS)
  *   Knowledge of several areas of theoretical philosophy, esp. including philosophy of science, (social) epistemology, and their interfaces (e.g., scientific models, philosophy of science in practice, etc.)
  *   Knowledge of, and familiarity with, current developments in the natural, social, or technological sciences, e.g. as demonstrated by having successfully completed coursework in these areas
  *   Ability to teach in German as well as in English is required
  *   Readiness to engage in interdisciplinary exchange and cooperation with other units at the Department level
  *   Experience in university teaching, e.g. as a student assistant, would be advantageous
