Dear SPSP colleagues,
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to ask for your help in promoting our MSc programme Philosophy of Technology, Science and Society https://www.utwente.nl/en/psts/ to potential students, as the Dutch government no longer allows us to advertise our programme abroad.
The MSc programme Philosophy of Technology, Science and Society (PSTS) received a very positive evaluation from the Accreditation Committee (2023), which concluded that PSTS "has a unique, clear and distinctive profile in the global educational arena" and "provides a challenging and inspiring teaching-learning environment." We also have an excellent track record of students going on to PhDs and non-academic careers.
Unfortunately, in response to political developments in the Netherlands, the University of Twente has reduced its activities to attract international students. This not only raises concerns about enrolment numbers, but also threatens the international character of our programme. We value students from abroad because they bring a different experience and perspective on technology. At the same time, we are happy to share the latest findings from our cutting-edge research with students from all over the world.
Our MSc in Philosophy of Science, Technology and Society (PSTS) also offers unique opportunities to gain an additional diploma in Business Administration and Public Administration through our Joint Educational Programmes. In the current cohort, over 30% of our students are pursuing a double degree.
If you aware of any talented student, who is looking for a unique MSc programme, please point them to our website https://www.utwente.nl/en/psts/ or suggest to them having an online meeting with one of our current students: https://www.utwente.nl/en/education/study-choice-calendar/meet-up-with-a-student/
If the student needs any advice on the enrolment process, please consult our study advisor: Joe Beukes c.j.beukes at utwente.nl<mailto:c.j.beukes at utwente.nl> Joe can also help the applicants in finding suitable scholarships.
Thank you very much for supporting our MSc programme. We are looking forward to welcoming your brilliant students!
With best regards,
Mieke Boon
